Lee Madden is a book dealer specializing in rare and collectible antique publications. When he decided to add his collection to the web, he had over 8000 volumes for sale. First, he needed a database.
We designed and built a solution for Lee to catalog his books in an SQL database. We gave him the ability to upload images and attach as many as he needs to each title. Then we added the capability to feature selected titles on the home page.
This is another site that is self sustaining. Nothing has been done since it's inception. The inventory is managed by the owner, who updates the database and uploads images through the admin panel.
Along the way we added the ability for Lee to sync the database with other databases where he sells his books. We programmed scripts to export the data to Abebooks and Amazon.com so that the data only needs to be entered in one place.
